Karatong Festival 2019: 

Hugpo Madasigon grabs 1st runner up, best in musicality

       Hugpo Madasigon of Dulag National High School emerged victorious as they won 1st runner up and was recognized as “Best in Musicality” during the Karatong Festival 2019 held at Dulag Town Plaza, Dulag, Leyte last September 7.
       Showcasing the talents of students as part of the annual fiesta celebration, six groups from different schools of Dulag participated in the event.
       As part of the competition, contenders were required to use instruments made from bamboo that depicts the legend of “Karatong”.

       The purpose of the dance competition was to let students know the importance of Karatong Festival and to remind everyone of Dulag’s culture and heritage.
       “All of the students and teachers of DNHS were very happy because we all know that all of the competitors were hard to beat, but still we were able to get the title as 1st runner up” Mr. Arvin Costob, one of the instructors stated.
       Dancers of Hugpo Madasigon were honored and proud in competing for the name of the school and was happy because all of their sacrifices and hardwork paid off.
       Meanwhile, Alliah Kristal Noblejas, a grade 11-Thorndike student of DNHS was crowned as the newly Diwata Han Karatong last September 6,2019 at the Rose Bowl Stage.
